In a few weeks we’ll be welcoming a new Head of IEYC - Verity Welch - to Fieldwork Education. Verity has an extensive career in Early Years education, and we look forward to her joining the team.
Verity Welch has had an extensive career in Early Years education. Formally an Education Consultant and Trainer, she also worked as a Teacher, SENCO, Deputy Head and Headteacher.
Recently Verity was part of the team that developed the Healthy Early Years Audit for the London City Hall - Mayor of London, Health and Wellbeing Department.
IEYC is an exceptional and unique programme for 2-5 year olds which supports key areas of learning through holistic enquiry and play-based approaches. Verity is devoted to the development of children’s curiosities by providing activities to encourage investigation and thinking skills.
Verity is passionate about IEYC and embraces the challenge to support schools and practitioners in extending children’s play and development.
During her career she’s worked both nationally and internationally for a range of local authorities and organisations. Previous projects include developing activities integrating the London 2012 Olympics into Early Years Curriculum within London schools.
I am really excited to be joining the Fieldwork team to extend the impact of the International Early Years Curriculum. I have worked with many schools and teachers in this area, and can really see the value that the IEYC can bring to schools in the way it opens the imagination of children, and helps them to think in new ways"
