We are delighted to welcome Therese Andrews to her new post as Head of the International Curriculum - Primary and Middle Years. Therese brings multiple years of teaching experience from 3 continents and familiarity of different International Curriculums to Fieldwork Education.
Here Therese describes her background and what excites her about working at Fieldwork:
It’s a pleasure to be appointed as Head of International Curriculum - Primary and Middle Years at Fieldwork Education. After teaching Geography in a North London all boys school, my international education journey began in Boston where I led the implementation and development of the IMYC as part of the Head of Middle School role that I held, used the Looking for Learning toolkit and learned about the IPC from my Primary School colleagues. I then became Deputy Head of Secondary at the Nord Anglia International School of Shanghai, Pudong where I led on many of the operational aspects of school life.
Teachers have one of the best and most challenging jobs in the world. I know that some days are fantastic where the students respond really to the learning opportunities that you have planned while some days just do not go to plan. I look forward to working in support of all the work that you do, to ultimately improve learning for all students in the schools that we work with.
I can’t wait to meet you and hear all about the great work taking place in your schools. Please, please share what you’re doing (on the pinboard on My Fieldwork and tag us on Twitter @the_ipc and @the_imyc)! I also have a very blank wall in the Fieldwork Education office that I would LOVE to fill with evidence of student learning – copies of work, photos of learning - whatever it is, please do send this through (firstname.lastname@example.org) !
