Introducing the new IMYC Geography Units

Middle Years

We are excited to announce that we have published two new Geography units for 13-14-year olds for the Renewal and Entrepreneurship units!

In the Renewal unit students will explore the process of globalisation and the impacts it brings to all involved on a local, national and international scale. They will examine how social, political and economic processes have changed over time and how a country and its people prepare and manage this change by reviewing contemporary and thought-provoking case studies. Students are also provided with a fieldwork opportunity to collect and analyse data to help them understand the extent of the changes in their local area.

In the Entrepreneurship unit, students will develop a deeper understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and their importance in the world today. They will discover some of the issues that people across the world experience and how the Sustainable Development Goals strive to reduce them. After developing an understanding between the circular and linear economy, the unit will culminate in students designing a product to tackle an issue associated with a Sustainable Development Goal.

We look forward to hearing how these units improve Geography learning in your school, and encourage you to share the products that are designed for the Entrepreneurship unit with us via email or social media, we would love to see them!

Wishing you all the best for the academic year ahead!
