We have some brilliant news for our International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) members. We are delighted to welcome Matthew Silvester to his new post as IEYC Manager. Matthew brings 22 years of teaching experience and a familiarity of teaching the IEYC and IPC in the UK and internationally.
Matthew has taught in multilingual learning environments, been a class teacher in KS2 and the EYFS, a middle leader for different curriculum subjects, and a Senior Leader for over 14 years. This includes working for 4 years in a rural Mother and Children’s refuge in Bangladesh as their Director for Child Development and Safeguarding. All fantastic experience that will help with his IEYC Manager role.
Matthew Silvester shared with us what he enjoys about the IEYC and what excites him about working at Fieldwork Education:
“The thing I like most about the IEYC is the respect it has for children. Like the IEYC, I believe that all children are curious, capable, and creative who, in partnership with their teachers and community, explore, express, and extend their own learning.
Joining Fieldwork Education and managing the IEYC is an exciting challenge. The entire team here have helped me settle in during these interesting times. I am looking forward to working with IEYC teachers and leaders, and the wider IEYC community across the world, to improve learning within classrooms, building on the strong principles of this contemporary Early Years curriculum.”
We hope you will all join us in welcoming Matthew to Fieldwork Education and the IEYC community.
