We have a very exciting announcement for our International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC) community. We are delighted to welcome Lee Hendricks to his new post as IMYC Manager. Having taught internationally in China, Hong Kong and Spain with experience in roles as Teacher, Dean and Principal Lee brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role.
We asked Lee what he enjoys most about the IMYC and how he has found his first few weeks at Fieldwork Education:
‘What I love about the IMYC is the design and cohesiveness of the curriculum. It puts the middle school student in the centre of the learning, providing rigour and reflection along the way. Since the IMYC is brain-based learning, the curriculum respects student capabilities and needs during the teenage years and interlinks their learning with their various school subjects to find meaning and depth. The whole philosophy of the curriculum is well-thought out and engaging for both teacher and student involved.
I am thrilled to join Fieldwork Education! In my first week, I felt at home with constant support from my colleagues. To be a part of a group of talented, caring professionals is very motivating and to know that if I have a question a doubt, there is always someone who will help guide me along the way. I have felt welcomed and supported every step of the way. I look forward to what creative enterprises we can achieve together as a team.’
We hope you will all join us in welcoming Lee to Fieldwork Education and our international community.
